Its been chilly, dark and damp all week. The sun came out a few minutes ago and teased us then hid back above the clouds. More chilly, dark, dampmness on schedule for tomorrow.

We went from 90 to 85 and this morning it was actually 40. This is Mobile Al and I am freezing. My husband loves it. I like it as hot as it can get. At least it has stopped raining. The sun is shining. Other than being cold it is beautiful.

Finally has cooled down a bit in Florida. Was 93 two days ago and only 70 today with 50's tonight. But will back in the 80's by Tuesday. I will be going up north to Chicago on Thursday so hoping to see the fall colors and have some more cool weather.

Here in upstate NY...above 1500 feet we are colder than usual during the days, but actually later for frost.
Our growing season is very short. We have frost sometimes until June 15 and it returns about August 15. Can't grow tomatoes. Sometimes we cover our plants with sheets at night.
I have lived here since 1973 and love it. I dread going shopping down in the valley during the summertime because I get uncomfortably hot. In the winter we have a daily fresh coating of snow (sometimes 4-7 inches not even in the forecast) so we don't have ugly blackened snow along side the roads.
We have wide plowtrucks that have a "wing" plow up in the air besides, that makes a shelf for the snowmobilers. The last two winters there hasn't been much snow, but we are expecting a severe one again soon. It's time. One year I couldn't see out my kitchen window until April............... I LOVE winter and hate summer. I would rather shovel than mow.

It's pretty much all gone now but the rest of the week is supposed to be snowy/rainy so we may have a white Halloween. At least I got my lawn mowed the other day for the last time this year (and maybe the last time period ) so that is good. I have a large lawn and no rider mower so there was a lot of walking/hobbling around after my self propelled mower and a lot of rests. I have decided next year to get some ATV roller blades and let the damn thing tow me around.

Barry,
My hopes are for something to slow this thing down for the next mowing season. I would love nothing more than all of you guys go out and mow at one time. We will have the great mow, everyone mow's at one time. My son keep's hoping it is the last time he has to mow this year. You are so much like my guys, with the ATV thing.

Barry, what no riding lawn mower? My brother lived on his! Ray loved all 3 of his! I think he really misses the large yard! Poor baby, all he has is mud here!

Ray had three? He will just have to plant some grass quick so he can be tied to his yard like all of the rest of us.
