| In Five Minutes I Came Up With Cheese! :) Time
We used to believe
It was the ticking of a clock
Mere numbers on a wall
That remind one of the minutes, the days
All too easily gone by
The colour on the ground
Is proof that time changes
Frost on the window
A symbol of time slowing down
For the jewels of winter
That show their beauty
To all of our eyes
I have prayed for the days to stop
To have the spirit close by me
See the sun rise
For eternity
Then questioned his Creator
Because of the cruelty here
as the hands of Life's clock
Continue to move towards
the end we will all come to know
someday
For now, Time is not marking the days
counting the seconds or reliving an
Hour or two with the misfortune of slipping away
Time is in the discovery that a love once thought
Gone forever is still there
Hours go by and it tells me
That the Warrior spirit still exists in his soul
even though the past has broken down his body
And the spirit that beats from the heart within
Means he will always be
The man that he was before
Time for us is no longer a unit of measure
Each moment is a blessing unto itself to be celebrated
It is in realizing that speech does not matter
But making your voice heard always will
And a smile is one of Life's greatest joys
Time will never again be marked by a clock here
But in the joy of the moments
Locked between my eyes and his
With every beat of a loving heart
The windows to our souls open
And a spirit still free to enjoy
All that the world has to offer
Time may mark the days still
But for me it has become an affirmation
That it is not my enemy
But my friend; for it has reminded me that
there is still beauty in everything around it
And Life is a moment where even the look
From eyes of a beautiful brown
Or the soft touch from a hand
Means more than love...
It means
Everything
This isn't my best stuff...Actually, it came of some midnight scrawlings! (LOL) I keep a notebook and pen on the nightstand wherever I go, just in case some sort of muse hits and it's actually worth remembering. Hope you all like your cheese ripe!

"Cheese" - usually taken in this context to mean something so sugar coated and sickengly sweet that it's BAD.... Most of the time, I put a lot of thought into how the words fit together. That, I just let it go wherever and didn't bother editing it.

I was going to say "Penny for your thoughts" , then thought better of it.
That was very nice.

Thank you for the poem (cheese) it is beautiful. We all need to slow down sometimes and relook at our lives and how we see things. Again, thank you.
