Anyone heard of this fellow? Seems he knows how to get and use the latest tech. In regards to our nightmare. Played nfl football.

Steve Gleason is extremely active in ALS circles. He has a foundation and has done much to help PALS through advocacy and direct financial aid. I personally know of a couple of instances when he / his foundation helped PALS cut through red tape. A couple of years ago he hosted a summit where leading researchers, doctors and PALS came together for education and to brainstorm ways to jumpstart research and trials. Steve Gleason is a true hero. His website which I will not link as it has a fund raising component can be easily found. Look for teamgleason

One of his peers both in the NFL and in ALS is Pete Frates.

Pete Frates is a 31 year old who was diagnosed with ALS at 27 years old. He was a baseball player for Boston College.
