My Father was diagnosed last year with Diabetic Neuropathy we noticed his symptons getting worse, we finally went to a new neurologist who said he was diagnosed wrong and is more than 50%sure that he has ALS we live in Charlotte NC and were wondering how many different opinions should we get? I am torn I wake up crying go to bed crying and hope that their is a light at the end of the tunnel:-(

Hello - so sorry to hear of your troubles. Can't guarantee a light at the end of the tunnel, but you might want to get an opinion at a neurology center that specializes in ALS. The ALS Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Ass'n (alsa.org and mda.org) both have links to centers in Charlotte. I think that's your best bet. Good luck, and I'll hope the next neurologist you see will find a different diagnosis. If not, we're here for you.
