Wayne's great grandparents donated some land to the Catholic Church during the early 1900s.

Monsignor Hawes built a small chapel there. Since it's in the district of Kojarena, the chapel is called the Kojarena Chapel.

In 2007 all the grandchildren of the O'Brien's restored it as it had fallen into disrepair. Wayne's mum is one of the 57 grandchildren.

Every year there's a family mass. Here are a few pictures from lunch afterwards.
Sorry, wayne's cousin Harley killed the snake, it was at the door waiting for everyone to come out!

The kids always take part with a reading or something, this year they took up the offertory.

It was a beautiful day. We went for a drive through the bush after church. I must be on some damn fine medication, as I let both kids have a drive of our BRAND NEW car! They loved it!
We stopped at a creek, unfortunately when we got back in the car we brought a heap of the biggest ants I have ever seen with us. Connor (who's afraid of his own shadow ) screamed until we go back onto the road so we could get them all.

The ants just added to the day, which was awesome family time, thanks be to God.

What a wonderful story with great pictures Janelle. Thanks for sharing both!

Thanks for sharing, Janelle! I enjoyed the pictures, but I missed seeing one with you in it.

Verynice. I love little churchas. Steve and I got married in one that sat maybe 100 people. There was a split in town between the French and Irish so we had 2churches. The French one was a monstrosity.

I love the idea of a yearly gathering to celebrate and see one another. You are truly blessed that your family is devoted. The pictures are beautiful btw!
