Had a check up appointment with my GP, he actually volunteered to write letters for me to carry incase I was stopped for public drunkeness!

Well, if you are in a bar or restaurant, good luck with that working! My husband had a card from the ALSA that explained everything. We were "thrown" out of a restaurant in NY after eating a huge dinner. My husband had gone to the bar to order a beer and they threatened to call the police if he didn't leave. He presented the card and you can imagine that exchange. They didn't give a $#!% about Lou Gehrig's disease. I tried to explain, but it only made matters worse.
Nice of your doc, though. Maybe people are nicer in CA?
in the beginning ..i thought my husband was drinking on the way home from work..later i wanted him to wear a braclet to explIN HIS SPEECH9IN CASE HE WAS STOPPED)friggen als,,,,,,now we are looking ito devices to help;;id take the old slurs anyday!
