If anyone is interested, I've started an album under my profile that will chronicle my husband through his journey with ALS.

I hope this will be uplifting and informative, as a picture is worth a thousand words!

I've just started on this and will update periodically.

CJ, thanks for starting this (you guys are a really good looking family!)

One thing I notice, is that only pic is of your hubby in his professional clothes, the rest are of him hanging out with the family. Your son in some aspects has gained so much by Don being there in his daily life more. I'm not saying that ALS is ever a good thing, but it certainly does a very good job of getting our priorities straight.

Nice photos, CJ. I was wondering how you guys are doing!

That was the last day of work for him. They threw him a party. He could no longer hold the stylus for the palm that was required to do his job and customers as well as co-workers were having difficulty understanding him at times. So, he retired after working 6 months from diagnosed!

He has been fortunate to travel with family and with his best friend.

My son and I both are fortunate that we have been able to spend these wonderful moments with him.

I would be interested to see more cALS and pALS share there journey on the forum through these albums that can be added to your profile. It is comforting to know we are not in this alone and that ALS does not stop your world, it just changes the road you travel. Also, for those that think they may have ALS, pictures of pALS provide insight into how atrophy slowly progresses.

Thank y'all for taking the time to browse the album!

Hope others will post in this thread about any albums they would like to share.

Hi CJ,

Loved the pics. You have a wonderful family. Are these all post-diagnosed? Wow, you've certainly been able to keep active even with ALS. My family and I are doing the same.

I think I recoginized the "fellow Atlantian" as Steve "SmoothS" from PLM, right?

Keep the faith,
-Tom

Tom! Love your bathroom makeover, but can't you put some pics of y'all up? Would love to see you posing or something!:p

Yes that is Steve! I think I will put a little blurb with that pic about how he was instrumental in turning what we believed to be a "death sentence" into "living life to the fullest with with ALS !" I was so inspired by his posts on PLM, that I had to get my husband to meet with him. My husband's best friend drove us to pick Steve up and we went out to lunch. It was great! I can't tell you how much that little whipper snapper changed our lives!

I would urge anyone that is down in the dumps about the diagnosed, whether you be pALS or cALS to look at what this one guy has done for the ALS community. His project to build a facility for pALS that want to vent is just unbelievable. You can sit around and do nothing or you can be the best you can!

Anyway Tom, get those pics into your album!

And yes those pics are all post diagnosed. My husband is not going down without a fight. I can guarantee you that! And I am by his side doing whatever it will take!

(Have edited the album with the pic of Steve. Y'all take a look and see what he is up to!)

CJ,

Okay, it was a good idea. You pushed me into posting a family album. See my profile.

Thanks,
-Tom

Tom, I enjoyed every single one of the photos! You and your family look like you'd be loads of fun to hang out with.

Cool album Tom! Y'all really did some posing! LOL

Hope more people will add albums! Seems funny to say that word nowadays with scrapbooks and CDs and DVDs!

Im new to this website and still trying to figure it out. How do I access your album?

Unfortunately you will have to wait until you have a few more posts, then you will be able to. We had to implement these measures awhile ago because of new people coming and spamming our members. Another few posts and you are there.

Got ya...
Well my husband and our family went to Tahoe over this past weekend and had a wonderful time. However didnt think of the smokey casinos and he ended up having difficulty breathing the rest of the night but he made it and was able to thoroughly enjoy his time with family and friends.

Thank you for the info you supplied me with. I was able to enjoy myself as well and not fret too much :)
God Bless You,
Dana

Cj and Tom,

Great family albums!

Hey, I think a photo album is a great way to show that life goes on and make the best of everyday. Thanks guys for the great photos and sharing with the group. You are very fortunate to be able to travel and spend the time with your family like that. Have fun.
