Have read the earlier threads on lift chairs and am homing in on the Golden Cloud 510MLA. Will the heat and massage add-on be important later on as my ALS progresses? I’m still in the early (pre-hoyer) stage, but no longer walk. Personally, I’m not fond of the massage feature (don’t like to be agitated!) but if I’ll need it later that’s a different story. What has been your experience.

I have both and you really don't feel the heat that much. The massage is like a bed massage. I never thought it was very useful. Without those two functions, you are only dealing with one control. I would suggest using velcro to attach the remote to the chair and don't get the add-on extra pocket....it's too hard to use.

I have a heating pad on my chair and I position it on my lower back. That chair is wonderful. When I sprained my ankle in a fall last year, I slept in it.
