Anal Fistula surgery

I am scheduled for surgery for a anal fistula. I had a perianal cyst but it drained on its own. Now this! Has anyone had this problem? I'm interested in learning more about the recovery;e.g. Pain, time, reoccurrence. I am already in a wheelchair with much needed assistance to transfer.

Please clarify. Your profile says you are a caregiver for someone with ALS. Your post says you are in a wheelchair and need help to transfer. Are you a PALS?

I am dealing with a fissure that seems to be taking forever to heal. Constipation wrecks havoc on your butt. It is very painful.

I'm not a PALS but I have had several perianal/rectal fistulas (from crohn's) and have had surgery do I can answer any questions you have.
