I was driving today and when I stepped on the brake, my foot started going up and down by itself. This is a new one for me!
Is this Clonus?
Thanks, Marty

YUP..it is clonus. You can semi control it by changing the angle of your foot when it happens. Some people mistake spasticity with clonus.

I'm the same way with clonus but not when I'm driving, thankfully. It's worse sitting in the shower and when trying to get dressed. I had issue with clonus type spasms at night in my legs and started taking a low dose of Valium before bed. It definitely helps but knocks me out. Wouldn't be good to take before driving.

Marty I'm so sorry to read you have clonus!
It's not fun...now you have it, please take care especially when driving.

Thanks. I found that I can initiate the clonus by moving my foot up and down a couple of times.
Keeps a pretty good beat to a fast song.
Marty
