1) I have been told that people with ALS don't have bladder issues, yet I retain and then can't void. Anyone have the same problem?

2) I had a super-pubic catheter surgically implanted right above my pubic area about three weeks ago and even though, I'm still getting very strong, unbearable spasms and end up peeing myself from my urethra. Anyone ever heard of this?

You need to go to your doctor and get your supra-pubic catheter checked. Some people do get bladder spasms with catheters but it is rare. But having said that the catheter should keep your bladder drained, unless it is plugged off, so when you do have a bladder spasm there should not be any urine bypass. If you catheter is not draining properly your bladder may be full, causing the spasms and the bypassing. A simple bladder scan can show if your catheter is draining properly. You could also be getting bladder spasms due to an infection, either way a trip to your doc is indicated.

Paulette is right on the money with this. Get to a doctor. Hope this improves.
