I just got news about my diaphram, it is very week.so I am using a bipap machine now at night. Today I got sensation like my air ways where blocked. That is when not on bipap. Any ideas what's going on. I have a feeding tube but never needed to use it.

Thank you
Harlin

Your diaphragm is probably weakening, Harlin. My husband used a BiPAP at night and when he napped in the afternoon. When he started having sensations of "air hunger", it was recommended he start on very low doses of morphine (1 mg every 2 or 3 hours). He did that and it provided him with much needed relief. It's a small amount and doesn't warrant respiratory suppression or anything. You might want to talk to your ALS clinic about that. I wish you well. Yasmin.
