Hi everyone,

I have decided to return after taking a break from all thing ALS since being diagnosed in September last year.

I felt I needed some time away to come to terms with my diagnosis and the impact it has had on my life.

I have had another follow up with my neuro and have had some signs of progression. I lost some strength scores on my right foot, left arm and neck front and back.

Lung capacity is still good at 108%. I lost some points on my ALS score for my handwriting and other functions.

I am still very emotional but feel that I am generally doing OK.

Since being away I have noticed a number of new members around my age.

Warmest regards everyone

Ian

Sounds like fairly slow progression, glad to hear you are doing ok!

hi Ian
Welcome back and hello. dealing with diagnosis was very hard for me. it took me a long time to come to terms and start living again. I am a slow progressor which is good because it took me 2 years to come to terms.
dealing better now.

It takes some time for some, to come to terms with something so unexpected like this but...eventually, we have to get there if we want to live each day left to us to its fullest.

Welcome back, Ian.

It's good for you that your lung capacity is around 108% which means you don't have breathing problems just yet.
