In previous posts I mentioned a Yahoo group called "Blenderized-Diet" When you sign up, you get emails every few days showing questions by other members, and responses.

Today when I was reading the latest questions and responses, a member mentioned a website she uses for calculating her daughter's nutrition (it seems like the majority of the membership in this Yahoo group is comprised of parents of tube fed infants and children)

Its called "Drink Your Meals" I'd never heard of this site, and it is awesome! There is a section just for tube feeders, nutritionists who will answer specific questions, and so forth. Just a wonderful resource all the way around.

For those of you who have bulbar issues, but don't have a PEG, there is much that would be of help for you as well.

For CALS who find themselves gradually gaining weight while as they try to keep weight on their PALS, there is also a weight loss and fitness section.

Here is the link if you want to check it out:
http://www.drinkyourmeals.com/

You do have to sign up. It's a beta website and is free, but there is an option to make a donation if you so desire. I'm still just now familiarizing myself with it.

MP, you're very welcome.

I've been playing around on DrinkYourMeals, and it seems like the My Fitness Pal website is an easier place to create a custom tube recipe, in that it has such a huge data base to search through for ingredients, and there are more size options.

But, what I do like about DrinkYourMeals is that one can email a nutritionist, which I have done (but not heard back from yet).

There are tons of recipes to search through on the site, either by ingredient, or title, etc.

I know that busy CALS aren't probably going to be particularly interested in using multiple recipes for a PEG tube if it means more work placed into their already overloaded schedule.

However, for those still eating by mouth, but missing variety due to limitations in swallowing, this is a goldmine! I wish I'd found it before my year long menu of "All Things Pasta (with lots of sauce) and Yogurt" ha ha.

Thanks for the link!

Thank you for the information!

You are all very welcome :)

I did hear back from the nutritionist, multiple times in fact. I am so impressed that someone is actively donating their expertise for anyone who asks.

She did help me tweak my formula, and I'm so happy to have it figured out. I will add the recipe to my blog here on the forum. Right now I'm watching a show with my son, so will have to come back on later to do this. I'll add her thoughtful suggestions to this thread too .

I have a question on the topic that the people who answer the question are they specialists or general people?
