We were at the VA Hospital this afternoon for a pulmonary consult about the Bi-Pap and cough assist when my husband said he was going to pass out. He started sweating profusely, breathing hard, blood pressure dropped, and the doctor called for the rapid response team that escorted us with police officers to the ER. INR level was off for his Coumadin dosage, given shot of blood thinner and started on Bi-PAP machine/heparin to follow.

Hours later in ICU, he is eating dinner, color is back in his face, and watching television before falling asleep. I told my brother he has a guardian angel on his shoulder looking after Scott.

Sheesh that sounds scary. And it seems like Scott indeed has a Guardian Angel on his shoulder as he may not have made it through this if he had been at home. I'm glad he is feeling better. Keep us posted. A great big bear hug to you.

So sorry to hear this news. I hope he is OK and recovers quickly. You are both in my prayers.

It sounds like he had a pulmonary embolus. How fortunate you were at the hospital at the time. I hope he has a speedy recovery and gets better in general.

You and Scott continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope your hubby continues to do well. It sounds like you guys just can't catch a break!

Hopeing for a speedy return home. Thank goodness for the proximity to immediate medical attention!

Hoping to bring him home today from the hospital IF they get they barium swallow scheduled and run. He told me I am to give him shots in the stomach twice a day this weekend when he's home. Sheesh. This will be a new experience for both of us.

Peach, I'm praying for speedy testing so you guys can get home. Wish I were close, I'd come do the shots for you. Amazing what we can learn to do when we have to.

I HOPE HE COMES HOME TODAY. I know the whole situation must have been overwhelming. Send him a hug .one for you too of course.I think he has lots of Angel looking over him, and one right next to him "YOU". ( You Rock, stay strong:)
