I will be going to Chicago by air next week. I know it may be stupid question but I need to take my suction machine with me and I am wondering how they will treat it, as one of my carryons or is medical equipment separate? Do I need to let them know ahead of time that I will be bringing it?
Thanks,
Nancys

Nancy, I flew to Arizona last February and packed my 10 lb suction machine in a hard case as checked luggage. I just made sure that it was well padded and there were no problems. I didn't tell anyone but I'm assuming that you won't need it while you are actually traveling?

I used to carry my Bipap as carry on. Don't trust the ramp rats not to bang it around. If you think you might need to use it better call ahead.

When my mom flew to Albuquerque back in Feb, she took her bi-pap as a carry on. She didn't trust the airline people with it - afraid it would get broken in the process. Good luck with your trip Nancy - have fun!

Try Mikes website and click on Travel on left side. Some good info.
