..........remember me and how I LOVED YOU ALL
Realise this is said in a very very dramatic tone/

just decided to Giggle GUM/Tooth Abscess hoping there might be a diagram showing me where to stick a needle to release the pus and the tension. But no....now I fear I must be going to die of it soon - with or without twitching. ALS has nothing on gum abscesses, I tell you. They can spread round your brain, kill your teeth, frighten the babies and goodness knows what.

Well tomorrow at long last I see the ALS specialist. I cannot believe it will actually happen given the history so far.

Tuesday I see the dentist. If I had the strength I would hang him by his balls. But suppose it is better that he treat the damned abscess. First. One good thing about it is that I look younger. As good as botox, the swelling fills out what otherwise was a deepish wrinkle. See, there IS always a bright side/..;..

DO love you all

i had an abcess in my 20's,it was christmas eve and no way of getting to a dentist.
i sterilised a needle, put cotton wool near the tooth to soak up the pus and gently pushed the needle in.
honestly it was instant relief.
then i took some more cotton wool and put some tcp on it and left it in my mouth a few hours.............problem solved.
be brave and try it but you will still need to get it checked out by a dentist.
i promise it wont kill you:p

Caroline dearest, just tried your advice. tROUBLE WAS my hand kept shaking like mad and I do not think I got a deep enough hole. Did not have ghe strength or the courage. Result, an abscess (I think) with lote of little pin holes in it and no pus come out. Couldnt even make it BLEED!trouble is, it is right high up next to my nose cos it is the canine tooth affected.
Oh well, Just see how brave I am - yet again! But I showed that damned tyooth it cannot mess around with me like that!
Thank you, Caroline

irismarie, you can go to the emergency department and have them do it for you and you need to be on antibiotics ASAP! We did this in ER at least once a month so can you find someone to take you? Where is "V"? Oh, I know the pain that you are in-been there and did that and it happened after dental work! I hate Dentists but not as much as I hate this fing disease that makes our lives so difficult. xo

If I could just get in a car and go by myself aI would have done it ages ago, but I hate having to ask to be taken..........I have had antibiotics but they have not changed athing.
Dentist Tuesday

so sorry hope it gets fixed real fast ... while your at the a.l.s. doctor maybe he can get something done for your tooth at same time as he knows it could affect the brain

I had to change antibiotics three times before we found one to treat the infection. What are you on? Where is V when we need him? Ok, make certain that it is addressed tomorrow with that DR! love you abscess and all xo

Honey...I had this two weeks ago and could not believe the pain. On top of everything else....you so do not need this pain too. I am hoping that your appt goes ok tomorrow. Do you have any sorts of pain medicine? Thinking of you!

I am so sorry to hear about that darn tooth. My son went to emergency with an abscessed tooth.you are very right about the seriousness of it. Oh I wish someone would take you to emergency. Please keep me posted.. Big hugs, linda

I hope that you are at your Dr. appt right now and that all is being addressed and taken care of as I type. hugs to you my friend

You're on my mind, IrisMarie.... although I forget the time difference which Peter showed on his special chart, there's a very good chance you're already at or finished with the doctor.... who'd better be really good, or Kay Marie's monkeys OR Vincent may wreak havoc.

Iris, I do hope you feel better real soon. With everything we have to deal with on a daily basis and now you have this also. What a pain. Hope you are on the road to recovery real soon.
NancyS

Oh Iris! PLEASE tell us you went to the doctor. An abscess is not something to just wait out! And, having it up so close to your nasal cavity means it could spread into your sinus area too...

prayers for a quick recovery, and getting on the RIGHT antibiotics!

Wanted to share with you these 2 home remedies...they wouldn't require you to have the strength to actually poke the abscess with a needle...ouch!

1. holding salt water in your mouth for about 10 minutes at a time

2. packing the area of the tooth abscess with tea bags for a day

hope you're feeling better!

Gosh....horrible! Hope you feel better, once it is drained you will feel like a new person!
