Hi, I am new here. First time blogging on. I've been diagnosed by a practioner of QE or Quantum Energetics. It's body talk using your body's frequency with codes that your body answers the practioner. I have been having all the symptoms of ALS for a year now and now getting worse. Terrible time with balancing when walking. Feeling like I'm going to break bones in my feet to keep me upright and not fall down. Uncontrollable crying, tingling all over like pins and needles. Writing and picking up things are very difficult, so on ...... My Nuero Dr. did a EMG and a NC test both normal. So now he is sending me to UCSF. Which I don't have appointment yet.

QUESTIONS: I am having teeth nerve pain, up in gums, then sometime sharp down into the tooth. It changes from tooth to tooth, all around. Is this common w/ ALS?

I am having these pins and needle feelings or tingling. But some forums I've read say that isn't a symptom of ALS, so I get confused. Which is it?

Anyone diagnosed at UCSF and know what I should expect?

Would love to hear from some PALS on these!

i have never had teeth pain or herd of any one having it, but idk a whole lot. i was diagnosed in sep 09. but welcome its fun here lol.

I would wait for a neurologist that is associated with an ALS clinic before assuming you have ALS. Nothing you describe is used to diagnose ALS.

Welcome to the forum but sorry you have reason to be here.

You should get an authentic evaluation at UCSF. Never heard of those sensory problems (tingling, numbness, gum and tooth aches) connected with ALS. Usually they point away from it.

From what you list, you don't have "all the symptoms" of ALS, or any of them, for that matter, except for possible emotional lability, and that is usually associated with bulbar symptoms, not limb ... and your clean EMGs indicate the same thing. Will be interesting to hear what the neuros at UCSF think of Quantum Energetics. Be sure and let us know what they say.

Good luck. I certainly hope your "body talk" was fibbing.

Thanks for your reply. I understand and acknowledge about being diagnosed by Nuero DR.
That is why I am pursuing it. I have been dropping milk cartons on floor, throwing bread across isle at store because I couldn't hold on to it, I at times have trouble talking, etc etc. I'm praying to be patient for UCSF. But I am wanting to try Heavy metal detox/ sauna detox and start on elemental lithium to keep this from progressing any further. But I dont want to mess up my DX with UCSF. Very anxious!

What is Your story?

Goggle Quantum Energetics It is very interesting!
Thanks again for replying

Bindy,

If you have ALS, then detoxing or trying any other treatment would not affect the accuracy of your diagnosis.

I agree with the others that many of your symptoms don't sound like ALS, so its particularly curious that a practitioner would tell you that you would have this. I hope that this person has not offered to help you (for $$$) with methods you should follow to slow/stop/reverse your progression. If he/she is, keep a tight hold on your wallet,
and wait for your upcoming appt UCSF. before you make any major lifestyle changes!

To answer your question, sensory problems are not common with ALS,and I've never heard of tooth pain, roving or constant, being associated with it.

do you experience migranes ?

I get terrible pains in my teeth just before migrane onset.

You're sure you're not pushing this Quantum Energetics site. We need our super moderator Al to bring his bs meter to this thread.

I've read their poop on their site. It's really quite funny that I can take a few weekend courses and become a channeller. Anybody remember the movie about this. Anyway, I too can learn to channell energy through laying on of hands. If I could travel and had the money I'd go and find out that it's bogus rather than just reading about it on their site. If you want to waste an hour you'll never get back, It's really quite comical. Just don't fall for the hype.

AL.

Bindy,

I'm no doctor but I don't think any of the things you shared equate to ALS (outside of the EL that Beth mentioned) but there are several other maladies that can bring on bouts of crying other than ALS.

I'm wondering how much you had to pay this "practitioner". You know the old saying: If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and QUACKS like a duck...

Away from all the other subjects here, yes, I have been having a lot of pain in teeth and have mentioned on another thread on this site that teeth nerves were v painful and did not take to anaesthesia.

i had loads of teeth pain when i needed my half emerged decaying wisdom teeth out. one should not wait until they are 35 to get those bad boys out.

I don't know if you have sinus problems......You can also get tooth pain in the upper teeth from your sinuses pushing on the nerves.

Bindy, apparently you are serious about this, and I'm sorry these "Quantum Energetics" folks have scared you so badly. There is a sticky on this forum that explains what all is required for a diagnosed of ALS, none of which you have presented.

Your symptoms are not those of ALS, and even "crying all the time" is not ... with bulbar ALS, one gets inappropriate or exaggerated bouts of emotions. Crying all the time suggests anxiety or depression.

If your neuro is referring you to UCSF, and they accept you with two clean EMGs and despite your lack of the usual ALS symptoms, you will be in good hands. There may be quite a wait to get in; that is common in these situations. Since these "Quantum Energetics" folks have scared the wits out of you, I suggest you see your regular doctor and get some help coping with your anxiety.

My advice: Stay away from these QE people, don't shell out money for their treatments, and don't try to push their services on PALS who are actually fighting this disease. You HAVE NOT been diagnosed with ALS, and won't be until an ALS clinic or neurologist says you are and is willing to put it in writing. As a courtesy to those of us who have been diagnosed with ALS and for the sake of honesty, please change your profile to avoid misleading other worried folks.

... And I don't see why it is "disturbing" to be told you do not have ALS. Are you listening to yourself?

Good luck finding a cause and treatment for your ailments.

Bindy ... I apologize if I sounded harsh.

I'm not usually the "tough love" type, and I fully understand that you are worried sick about what is happening. We get a lot of people here who are frightened of ALS; most of them DON'T want it, and all of us with it wish we didn't have it. However, sometimes we get people who insist against all evidence that they have it and seem to want it. Usually, these are cases of anxiety related to other things in their lives ... so when someone says they are "disturbed" instead of relieved to hear that it may not be ALS, or that someone is being "mean" when they tell them they don't have it, it raises flags for me.

The point I was trying to make is this: Your symptoms simply don't sound like the usual onset of ALS. It is a VERY rare disease, and almost always follows the same general course. There are variations, but the symptoms you describe all together point AWAY from ALS. Of course, there is something happening to you, and you need medical specialists to sort it out.

Stick to the medical experts and leave the alternative healing folks alone until you find out what is really going on. I don't know if you're still visiting the forum, but I'm sorry I was harsh. I just wanted to get through to you that you were not making any sense. No one in their right mind WANTS this f***ing disease, and the QE folks are not qualified to make a diagnosed of such a serious condition. It is unethical of them to pretend they are!

Anyway, I'm sorry for your problems; I know how worried you are, and I hope you get real answers to your questions soon.

Take care.
