Someone dear to me passed away today from ovarian cancer. I will miss her when I travel that way next week.
If you are a reading type, I highly recommend the story of Mayada called: Mayada, the daughter of Iraq.
In a nutshell, despite the title, it's a true, raw, and fascinating story of never giving up when all hope is lost; finding beauty in the ugliness of despair; and rejecting all bitterness toward the injustices of life.
Mayada had every reason to hate. She was unfairly imprisoned and tortured, but instead she chose only to give love.
I learned so much from Mayada. She was one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever known. Such a kindhearted and generous woman. I was privileged.
Just thought I'd share.
