My sister went for her first ALS clinic visit on Friday. She mentioned that she had pain in her arms and down into her wrists and hands. She described this as a deep muscle ache typical of flu-like symtoms. Her ALS specialist was seemingly thrown off balance apparantly not ever hearing that before. Have any here experienced this type of pain before associated with ALS symptoms? Any feedback is appreciated.

Kaye, I want you to see if you can share with "Ladyinn". She had arm pain early (somewhat early!) and is in my friends list on my profile page--if you don't see her elsewhere. In the blue bar near the top of the page is "Community", and you could use that.

Ok...ty Ann... love to you and hugs 'n' kisses...
Kaye :)

She could have other issues going on besides ALS. I hope not, but it's possible. If her arms have not atrophied a lot yet (where they would hang and thus be in pain), then she may want to see a rhuematologist regarding fibromyalgia or myofascial pain syndrome.
