Newly diagnosed and still learning

Have had a rather bad cold - started as head cold but went into chest. Battle to cough - is this because the muscles in lungs affected? Also battle to bring up mucus. Also find myself choking when eating. Would like to hear more about this problem, if it is a problem or just because of the cold.

are you loading up on vitamins? they seem to help. I live in fear of a chest cold!

Heather have you tried mucinex? Thins out the mucus. Just a thought.
