Thanks to all of you for your kind, loving thoughts. Don was truly loved by many. The service at church was beautiful. The honor guard was so noble as we put his cremains into the earth yesterday morning. He truly was a soldier, in war, in sickness, in death.
He will live in the hands of the Lord forever more.
God Bless to all,
Sis

I am new to this forum, but I am very sad for your loss, I'm sure it was comforting for him to have you with him at the time of his passing.
Did he have ALS? My mother in law is in her final days and it has been very difficult for us. God bless you and be strong through these tough times.

Our 8 yr old granddaughter brought me this poem today.
If you have a husband
he's your sun
when he dies
Its like your sun ran out of gas.
God Bless the children..........Sis

Its been 3 months since Don has passed. Life is sooo different without his physical presence. We all carry him in our hearts and even get a 'memory grin' when something reminds me of what he'd say 'if' or we want to know who sang what song or what era it was in, he always knew the answer. It amazed us. Now there is no one that knows the answers to our off the wall questions. I'm grateful for a wonderful, support family. My husband's twin is still having a hard time with Don's passing. Is drinking way to much...worries me.
A dear friend brought me a puppy in November. She's a bruiser! she's 4 months old now. I named her 'Donna Reed' and she's an English Mastiff. My girlfriend told me that I need a watch dog. She's more like a watch pony!
I've been on a cleaning and painting craze. I think its just a way for me to fill my time. Thats okay too....the work needed done, it was way over due. Scrubbing walls can be rehabilitating.
Living each day as it comes.
Jo

Hi Jo,
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to hear of your husband's twin having such a hard time but it sounds like you are doing quite well. I think it's wonderful that you have a new puppy and I love the name you chose! There certainly isn't anything wrong with cleaning and painting... it sounds to me like you are being very proactive and honoring Don's memory in a beautiful way. Your love and dedication to him is so touching and your strength is an inspiration.
Big hugs to you,
Rosella

How truley nice to hear from you. The puppy sounds like a cutie. My dad is the same way as Don was with music, actors, history.. And I am like that, now my son.. I will think of Don, next time someone ask's about a song.. I can imagine how much his presence still lives on in your thoughts and memories, enjoy them,he would want that. Please visit with us whenever you have a chance.
