Default Dr. Richard K. Olney

Dr. Olney was one of the top ALS clinicians and researchers in the US. Such irony that he should have been struck down by the disease he spent his career fighting.

Dr. Richard Olney dies: expert on, victim of ALS

Rest in peace, Dr. Olney.

Very sad. Loved his quote - "Once you accept your fate there isn't much to be depressed about." Those are words I'd like to continue living by.

This story absolutely tore me to pieces this morning. I cannot imagine the level of devastation this man felt when he was diagnosed. What a courageous man.

[SIZE=2]Very sorry to get this news. Dr. Olney has been an inspiration to me since he was diagnosed. Courageous, hopeful, intelligent and humble. Rare qualities in a single individual. Thanks for the posting.

He tried...gave his life and career to this fight......hopefully between his research and battle he found something and wrote / typed / dictated it. To be so educated And end up with the beast is a double edged sword, you know you got it, but who better to test things different on than yourself?
