DeLores Logue Weaver passed away Monday morning, less than one year after being diagnosed with bulbar
ALS. She died peacefully at 5:05 AM with her husband and adopted daughter holding her hand.
She was the first US
ALS patient to have insurance pay for her Diaphragm Pacing System - hopefully leading the way for other US
ALS patients. She participated in research on the spinal fluid at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and, at her request, her spinal column and brain were sent to the clinic to hopefully further their research.
She loved and was loved. She was indeed an angel flying to close to the ground.
To all that contribute to this board - thank you so much. The posts here helped her friends and family understand the disease. And if Beth in California is reading this - her son thought you were just the best. Your postings really helped him.
