I just wanted to let all of you know that my father, Angelo Tursi, was set free this morning at 11:38am. My mom, my sister and I were by his side when he left and we all got the chance to tell him how much we love him and to say our good-byes. My dad was a real trooper throughout his relentless battle with ALS. He was spared no punches but he did not lose his battle, he just chose to walk away from the fight today.
My heart is broken and I will always miss my awesome dad. He was a truly exceptional man who loved all the simple things life had to offer: his luscious garden, making his wine, building things, and swimming in the ocean. He was a master electrician with an impeccable work ethic and he loved fast cars and cold beer. Angelo was a real salt of the Earth kind of guy. He was a romantic husband and a fiercely protective and loving father. He was a truly faithful friend, a good brother and always lent a helping hand. He had an infectious laugh and when he smiled, he smiled with his whole face.
I will always try to make him proud and as I told him this morning, even though ALS took away his speech, I have always heard his voice and will continue to hear it for the rest of my life. Even though he is physically gone, he will always be my dad.
Godspeed Papito.
Thank you all my forum friends. I would not have gotten through the last 19 months without all of you. This is a truly special place and I will forever feel blessed for having stumbled upon this forum when I did.
Love to all of you,
Rosella
