Hi Patricia,
I saw on the message boards that you've had experience with Dr. Rothstein. My sister-in-law is considering getting a 2nd opinion from him, as she was recently diagnosed with ALS. During your appointment, did they discuss treatment options and the research they're doing? I know Dr. Rothstein will definitely be able to rule the ALS is or out, but we're really hoping to get some type of treatment plan also. Thanks so much for any more information!

Good day. I saw in one of your posts that your PALS have twitching before weakness. And that his EMG was clean only to have it "dirty" a few months later. I got a clean EMG just this Wednesday. The neurologists test both my legs and left arm. all were negative. I dont have other symptoms other than twitching. Did your PALS only have twitching as his first symptom or there are other things? Is he Bulbar onset? thanks a lot.

l guess if they did my tongue it would have been positive but that was obvious
l eventually got a dirty emg but not right away

HI Patricia. I wasn't arguing with you--was just surprised. My EMG in my legs is clear--and it's obvious even to the doctors that something is dreadfully wrong--we just don't know what--because it's all UMN. Arm EMG has never been clean on mine.

For some it has improved strength and slowing of progression. Are you in the trial? Maybe you are on the placebo
