Hi, Yes he is on the spectrum. We started seeing a counselor together when my husband was diagnosed. It became my sons safe place to ask any question. We talked about the changes in my husband. One day at a cou seling session he asked me point blank what was wrong with him. I did not use the words als because he is a computer lover. However with in a couple weeks, he was asking for the diagnosis. I told him in a counseling setting with support. Canada's als site has several publications for talking with kids. We found them helpful. Email is if you want to "talk" more privately.
