We have this discussion before. Sadiemae is our beloved dog, and my husbands angel and best friend. She is not the dog on my avatar. Sadiemae is a Border collie/ golden lab mix. She is white, with black spots like the Budweiser dog, or the old RCA dog. She weighs 88 lbs, and is on a diet. Her new `treats` are baby carrots.

Mine isn't nearly so clever or interesting. I live in Alaska and my name is Jo. Wish I had tried harder to come up with something else.

We do have a golden doodle though, Tevye (named after the main character in the old movie, Fiddler on the Roof). We actually got him when he was about 1 year old, so are sort of still teaching him a few things. Overall, he's a great guy. I just couldn't get my mind around raising a little puppy - couldn't handle the idea of that kind of complications along with everything else.

I collect dragonfly paraphernalia and my name is Diane, hence "dragonflydi". Sadiemae, the dog on your avatar looks like our beloved black lab, Skye, who we lost to cancer two years ago at age 14. He was my husband's best friend and companion and losing him broke both our hearts. Diane

Simple - I resided in Ottawa ( our nation's beautiful capital city) - until two weeks ago.
Sad to move, but happier that there are no more stairs!

dbltree is short for Doubletree which is used behind a team of horses hooked to a wagon, my Dad used to collect them and named our farm Doubletree Farms. Dad died in my arms of a massive heart attack at age 62 while hunting with my brother and I, so my handle is a tribute to my father.

I keep a journal on Outreach Outdoors where I share my personal life, past and present also under the "handle" dbltree"

BTW..we had a beautiful Golden named Sadie too

I'm simply the Phil that belonged to my beloved wife Annie. Her username was abbas child, which is a reference to the New Testament reference to God as our Father, Abba, and she as His child. Abba is the familiar form of father in Aramaic. It's akin to papa, or daddy.

My explanation is shown on my profile page under 'biography'.

My user handle is not unique, but I also have an 85 lb. golden-doodle. His name is Cormac, a king of Ireland.

Barbie is a childhood nickname that I use to hate--now I love because Barbie is sexy and can do everything and anything ! My Dog is Daisy, and 85 lb bundle of crazy love American bulldog that we found on the highway 2 years ago. she isn't overweight--just all muscle. scary looking but sweet natured.

pearshoot is hill billie way of spelling parachute which i used many years in the military. needless to say i am a proud twenty year veteran of the cold war, dec/51 to may/73

Egbar stands for everything is going to be alright, which I try to remember everyday as I progress with this fate. My wife and I have 2 Bouvier des Flanders, molly who will be 12 in Oct is a fussy old girl and Zeus who will be 5 in Dec is a 115 lb dog that thinks he is a 12 lb puppy.

I have a 15 or 16 year-old Chihuahua that belonged to my significant other who passed seven years ago. He stuck to my SO like glue and is now watching my every move. According to a new chart I saw on calculating a dog's age in terms of human years, we are the same age--both "Old Dogs."

There is a lot of interesting folklore and mythology surrounding crickets. For example, in one country, if it is a green cricket it means hope. In other countries, it's good luck. I also tend to be bouncy :) Thought Cricket was appropriate.

Zaphoon - one of the instruments I play...

My Dad served in the Military for a very long time. He had to serve in Korea in 1951 and in Vietnam in 1967. So, I'm the son of a war veteran and thus, was always fascinated with the military aircraft and therefore, the NightHawk nick name.

NH

P.S.: Although, I didn't know it for sure I always suspected that the nick "Sadiemae" was somehow related to a dog's name.
