Has anyone else had the shaking inside your body that you can't stop, leg shaking that you can't stop and teeth chattering that you can't stop? It is a new symptom for me and completely baffling.:?:

hi angel.
thats not really a symptom of mnd so you may have something else going on.
however i do have some automic dysfunction and once in a while would have cold sweats and shivering for no reason.
it also effects my blood pressure(quite ofton)it is generally low but can suddenly drop and i black out.
mention it to your gp if it continues.

My legs start shaking uncontrollably when I get real nervous. No teeth issues although I don't have very many problems above the waist.

Uggh, I have that symptom, it can be from Clonus of the jaw, and from UMN symptoms. I have it when I aam cold or when I am nervous also..

OOOOOOK I have this ,before when i had it i would simply think its Hypoglycemia and get some pudding or apple sauce and it would go away ,now i get it, that doesnt help . Went to Emergency Room once ,learned they can do nothing . Learned it is called Neuro Glycopenia
this means your glucose is in your blood but doesnt get to your Central Nervous System . So now i just lay down or sit down and put my legs up for an hour or so . Nothing can be done for this simply that your Blood Sugar isnt getting to Your Nerves . Mine is in morning more so i thaught it was the coffee(caffiene) ,but not, Caffiene can cause shaking . At first it seems like a small shaking but then grows to a full blown shake ,in the Legs mostly for me . Geo

Good info, Geo. I hadn't heard of that before, but I have hypoglycemia, too, so that explanation makes a lot of sense.

I was diagnosed with PLS last Fall. I have had essential tremor since age 15--and it get worse with age, but it didn't keep from passing the Navy flight physical at age 22. It got so bad in the last year that I felt I was shaking inside, my lips would quiver, my head would nod, and my hand tremor was awful. So, my PLS/ALS specialist at the Med School in Dallas sent me to a tremor specialist at the Med School. He put me on neurontin--I've settled on 2700 mg/day. I works like a charm.

if its just general then it could be like geo said.
if its just certain ares then like hoping said it could be clonus.
i do get the shaking tremor of clonus in my legs sometimes also in my arms and
hands, though my pt said the ones in the arms are probably caused by weakness of the torso muscles and not clonus as it only happens when i am holding something.

I dont have the teeth chattering, but I do have immense clamping. But the shaking inside my body...It is horrible, and only recently started...it starts at my shoulder and goes straight up my spine and into my skull, like nothing else I have had. Though it is inside my body, my husband can feel it when he puts his hand on the back of my neck.

I'd get shaking in my stomach that would stop me from being able to talk. I don't know what caused it. It was more like from the inside and it happened when I'd get tense for some reason.

Look Up Non Diabetic Neuro Glycopenia at Google . Non means no Diabetes /Neuro is Central Nervous System /Glyco means sugars / Penia means lack of . Geo

My husband gets bouts of shaking, mainly of the legs. This happens after an episode of coughing or occasionally laughing. I was really worried when this started to happen, it looks almost like a convulsion, it can be quite violent. He has recently been diagnosed with a form of mnd, which is a slowly developing one. We think it may be pls, but the neurologist seems unwilling to give it a label.
