What sort of sieve, cheesecloth or other media would ensure production of liquid that would not plug a feeding tube?

A triple strainer is a start, but kind of depends what you are starting with -- maybe a superblender (people here use Ninja, Bullet, etc.) would work better.
Another method is to thin whatever the thick liquid is w/ water, juice, broth, whatever.
Heat is another thinner -- again, depends on starting point.

You might try a jelly bag, have to get a holder for it separately. I used them when I made jellies. Used to strain all seeds and pulp so that only liquids can get through. Very tightly woven. Haven't tried them for my peg as I use only jevity 1.5
