My mom gets 3 jevity feedings per day thru her tube. I (and her 2 other caregivers, my niece and sister-in-law), always make sure we flush with plenty of water before and after each feeding. I also give her meds and robitussin thru the tube. My mom had been getting a little bit confused the past couple of days (a little more than usual - she's 86), and after having bloodwork done it was found that her sodium is getting too low. We are giving her too much water thru the tube. We have to cut the water in about half and then check sodium levels in a few days. And we were worried about her getting dehydrated! Has this happened to anyone else?
