Hi, does anyone have Multifocal Motor Neuropathy and receives ivig treatment for the disease? I am trying to find out if Medicare covers ivig for MMN? Thank You
Bryan

Hi,

I wish I could give you a definitive answer but I really can't. My understanding is that they cover it if it is given in a hospital. I get mine at home. I am on Medicare but I have Medicare Advantage and the company that provides IVIG makes sure it is covered. When I did call Medicare the answer was they cover it in a hospital if it is "medically necessary." I think the phrase is confusing but my understanding is that if your neurologist says it is "medically necessary" then it is. Call you neurologist's buisness office and see if they can help. Please let us know how it works out for you. Best Wishes, Peg

Hi Peg, thanks so much for your reply. I agree it is confusing. I am just trying to sort through it, take care.
