Default Sweater

No , not the tight cashmere sweater on the bra-less girl of your dreams.

I want to know who sweats a lot while sleeping ?

I used to sweat at night when I was fighting a cold or something , but now since my dx , it seems like every night. So much , that I soak the pillow and my BiPap mask starts sliding around and making rude noises. Its interrupting my sleep.

I don't have a fever and its not because of nightmares (which have died down since sharing).

Anyone got ideas on how to calm it down.

Glen

Hi Glen,

.... just sitting here in my sweater

There was a guy who posted a while back that was having problems with sweating, I remember looking it up via my research assistant Google. It seems that excessive sweating (cannot remember the medical terminology) can be a part of ALS early on, then later it goes the other way.

Now, this next part ties in to what Marriane said. The very first summer when I had kind of vague symptoms, my legs would get sweaty. I chalked it up to possible onset of menopause. But that was it, a few weeks where my legs (mostly) sweated. Somehow (6 months and counting) it looks like I might have crossed over into the world of menopause without a single hot flash or night sweat.

Glen, my dad is regularly complaining about being too hot although his feet are ice cold. I spent the afternoon with him today and while he was sweating I was sitting there bundled up because the room was so chilly. My dad's technique for calming it down is opening a window.

I am really happy to hear that your nightmares have subsided. I hope they disappear completely!

Really no solution, but a little help: My husband would sweat so much the bed topper would be stained. We bought a light weight down comforter and that seems to be helping a bit. He does not have a top sheet, just the comforter, otherwise he sweats. He stays comfy without the sweat most nights with this arrangement.

Glen, Rose is right. I almost forgot about that. It will pass in awhile and you will be cold all the time. At least that is my experience, enjoy being warm! LOL

I know what you mean Glen, I wake up soaked every morning and I also find that I get very hot during the day too. I think that I am going though "Manopause"!

Hi Barry
Dad is doing o'kay. I wish he would check out this site. His sense of humour would fit in well.

Your dad would be in great company with the usual suspects we have on this forum.. A couple of them could have a side show, or even could be sit down comedians..LOL..

I went through a period of sweating like mad at night. It went away on it's own. Now I'm cold most of the time. Are we having fun yet?
