Thanks for the explanation. That is exactly what I meant by "aspirate".

Aha! Thanks for the explanation. Alas, I'm not strong enuf to use the plunger, so I guess I'll just stick to the spout!

Okay, Beth! I'll take your word for it (but it still looks like a wild man in a leotard!).

Beth-
The mortar is the "bowl"; the pestle is the "smasher-thing'.

OK, this may be a DUH question , but , couldnt you put the meds in the blender with a smoothie ?

Yep , I just went DUH ... Rilutek wait 2 hrs after eating or 1 hour before.
Hmmm ... it disolves really fast .
How about put the pill in the syringe , suck up some water then pull in a bit of air , put a thumb over the end and shake the hell out of it. Push the air out and down the tube.

Time to experiment.

Ok, Kim?!? Couldn't decide if I should cut off her head or her boobs. Yeah, I know your vote.

Glen, I'll consider your pill advice concerning the blender, sucking the pill up through the syringe, etc. Meantime, the little spout works pretty well.

Mare ... thanks! I've always wondered that. (And had to get ALS to find out. )

Is Halloween over yet? Can I turn the lights back on and start licking the "left-over" candy?

Beth, We'll call it over here - its almost 10:40 and tricksters had to be done by 9pm. There was one kid that must have watched, "The Great Pumpkin" because he was dressed in a sheet and had rouge on his cheeks. The kid looked to be about 11 and was a little stout for his age. I was tempted to drop a rock in his candy bag.

Thanks, Joel ... but it looks like they probably want money for it, and I assume you have to keep buying the little bags? Do you pour the water into the bags, and pour it into the syringe from there?

The problem is not crushing the pills. The pestle does a fine job of that. But then you have to dissolve them in water, and getting the med water into the syrings is the problem unless you have a mortar with a little lip on it, which I now do. So it works out OK.

Anything in a gel cap, I just put the whole cap in hot water and let it all dissolve. Low tech all the way. (and cheap, too!)

(And thanks to Mare, I know which is the pestle and which is the mortar! HAH!!)

Men in Missouri must look a lot different than men in Newfoundland.
