My little girl is 7 years old and i have 2 boys 12 and 9 and i also have a 21 year old girl and a 18 year old son that i do not speak to ( different story another time) but today i took my 3 youngest children to the park and my seven year old baby girl was climbing the monkey bars and slipped off and smacked her chest off the bar i seen her do this and said ouch! she ran strait to me i housted her up into my lap she was not making any noise then suddenly she started making this noise i have neve heard in my life and i pulled her away from my chest her little eyes were rolled back in her head and she was not breathing i was off the bench and moving fast screaming some one call 911. my plan was to run across the street were the hospital was and coming to my sences that i could not do this on the ground me and her went. i flattened her out to begin cpr on my babies blue lips and she sucked air in all at once and opened her eyes and said mom i went to sleep. that to me is way worse then ALS. holding your own childs lifeless body.:(

Hey sweetheart if you had a bad day and I can not imagine the day you had. If you need to tell us that is ok. We are friends here and a concern of yours is a concern of ours. I just hope she is ok.

re

Kim,

Oh, I am so glad your little one is okay. What an incredible experience. I am so glad you shared that with us. God bless you, you will be fine.

Dear Kim,
A story with a happy ending! Wonderful. I can not imagine what fear you felt, but you were given the strength to do CPR on your own child!
God Bless you and your family.

Kim,

I am so sorry you had to go thru such a scary thing with your daughter. I can relate to it to some degree, as i almost lost one of my daughters when she was 18 months old. However , our experience was due to an illness but it came on fast and almost took her life. I didnt' have ALS at the time,, but i was full term pregnant with my son. How ironic that would have been to lose a child and give birth to one a week later. So very glad she is doing ok. Take care ,, and love them while we can.

Love and Prayers
Marlo

Another weirdo

Kim, I laugh a lot too. I refuse to let ALS take that away from me. Have you seen Steve Martin in "Pink Panther"? I laghed until my husband said they were going to throw us out of the theatre. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it, especially the part about him trying to learn to say "I want to buy a hamburger>" I could so identify! My speech is unintelligible. I forget I can't talk. Found myself at a drive-up window one day. That was hilarious. L with U:-

I can relate

I can relate to the throwing out part me and my husband have been escorted to the door a couple of times in our day:mrgreen: . but hes a big old redneck (6ft 2in 260pds ) so escorting ( i know that is not spelled right) him anywere is a real task in its self. but no i haven`t seen it but i am gonna cause thats what got me out of ALS depression was starting to laugh again (i am sure the red wine helped to:mrgreen: ) and i am sorry that you almost lost your child. her little chest still hurts and she says shes never going to the park again. lol i don`t blame her. but thanks every body i let her read these she says all these people care about me i said yep baby they sure do:-D

love yas

Kim,

What a story I am so glad that your little one is ok. It is amazing how fast your mind reacts to things. You were so determined to make her better that you forgot all about the ALS and did what you had to do. I see two wonderful things with this. 1. The little one is just fine, and 2. Although ALS takes uses away from us and is a horrible disease we as strong people find other ways to make up for the use it has taken away. We will beat this ALS....

Take care and god bless. P.S. Give that little one a great big hug and let her know that someone far, far aways is so happy that you are back up and running around.

Jen

Glad you had a happy ending to your awful day. Children are so resiliant. Thank God. The Lord was watching over both of you that day!

Love, Carol
