Hi Anastasia,
re the Rilutec question

It is the only approved drug for ALS.
it is by all accounts suppost to extend life by a few months.
there is a lot of info on this site re the pros and cons of it.
Just do a search in the top bar for Rilutec.

Just a note on it. the price varies depending on where you live form $0/ month to $1000.00 / month in some states in USA.
Here in S.A. my script costs about $33.00 per month.
If it is a benifit for me, i dont know but for $33 dollars i am continuing with it. I dont have any side effects that i can pick up. (unless you count hair loss that is)

cheers Peter

I am from India - my mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with ALS. To my shock, the doctors tell us that the medicine is not available for commercial sale here at all. Apparently, a local pharma company does produce the drug - but the stock is very limited and only people with the right contacts apparently can get hold of the same.
