Appointment tomorrow-nervous

Nervous as a cat w/o litter pan. First appointment at Barnes-Jewish in St. Louis. It'll probably be a meet and greet session, I bet they won't be able to schedule any tests tomorrow, and I'll have to go back. Got a symptom history typed up and all the paperwork they sent me filled out. Got to be up there at 8:00am, so we've got to leave Washington at 5:00am or so. Wife rescheduled her Thursday dialysis so she could go with me.

Hope it goes well, and is something they can fix, but symtoms match common ALS symtoms too well. I'd post that word doc, if I could. My sister, who is a RN head nurse at a small hopital in Nebraska suggested I do the history thing for the docs.

Good luck Perry! The history is a good idea, it could save you answering the same questions over and over again for the parade of specialists that you're likely to see. Have a good trip.

Just hold onto the thoughts that you will get through this. I know when we went for the first time for my husband, it helped immensely that the pros were calm and efficient. Our neuro did the EMG then and there, and gave us a heads up that day. Didn't really want the news, but it was good to have that part over with. The unknown is the worst part of any journey.

Great idea on the symptoms. Make sure you have a list of your meds, too.
