Hello,
I'm your typical guy freaking out about symptoms one of which I don't quite understand is the symptom of "hypertonia" in upper motor neuron problems.
The reason why I ask is my right arm is tight - it's actually slightly larger than my left arm around my wrist and forearm. My muscles in my arm when I flex them are bigger than my left arm. At rest, I feel that my right arm is more tense.
Is "hypertonia" in ALS pronunced tension and rigidity.. or very slight?
Please comment if you've had this symptom so I can understand if what I have resembles it.
This is my second question here so my apologies for being a pain - it's just that I don't understand what exactly "hypertonia" is in terms of increased muscle tone and stiffness.
Thank you again.
Bob
