Default I'm Taking A Break

I've found the recent changes made to the forum, well......infuriating. I understand the reasoning and the intent. For me the inability to include substantiating and pertinent data in a post means the post is no more than hearsay. Because of the type of person I am the inability to respond in a timely manner including pertinent information simply drives me nuts. I'm sitting here now biting my tongue.

I have enjoyed meeting all of you and hope to see you again. May you have fair winds and following seas.

I for one am not happy about your break Jeff, you are very informative and I like your sometimes soap box preaching, nose bleeds or not. If you do make it a short one.

Take care

I am not too sure what you mean, but either way, I have come to look forward to what you have to say.. and will miss your input if you do take a break. You got me going on a huge rant on the als registry, by the way. I have sent over 1000 emails, around the world, and emailed a letter to every single newspaper in Oklahoma. See what will be missed if you take a break???????????

Jeff,
I too am a Veteran. Air Force 1965 era. I really appreciate all the information you have provided for other Veterans who need that information.
Now if that includes a link to keep from filling up a whole page with a quote, I think it should be allowed. I also understand removing links that are advertising something.

On one hand we are told to use links to keep posts short, the when you use them the posts are deleted. I understand your feelings, please do not leave us, we need you and your information.

On the side of the Moderators, I do not know what was deleted, and it is not my part to judge their actions. I have confidence in them to make wise decisions that benefit the whole group of members here. I know in the recent past I have opened the forum to find porno pictures staring me in the face, that were posted by "new members". They joined just to insert their ads and then disappeared. Things had to be changed to address the spam issue, and the Moderators cannot be on here 24/7 to remove things like what I saw. I think for a free site they are doing a remarkable job.

I hope these differences can be worked out and you can continue to post.

Don;t stay away too long, Jeff. I still pick up the book "If You Meet Budda on the Road.." and read it from time to time. Thanks for recommending it to me! Cindy

Question

What are the recent changes to the forum that Jeff referenced? I must have missed something.

David removed a bunch of links from some questionable sites and some legitimate ones were removed in the process. New links will have to be moderated before being posted. He's just trying to keep the site spam free and not allow other sites to post here then get your information and sell it.
