I have done a search on here and couldn't find the answer to this question, so I apologize if I didn't find it and am repeating a question already posed:
Simply . . . what causes muscle weakness with ALS? Is it atrophy of the muscle or something else? The reason I ask, is that when I had my limb weakness, it was my very first symptom and I didn't notice any atrophy at all.
