quitting Nuedexta?

Any opinions on if my PALS should quit the Nuedexta in order to improve his current pneumonia? Wouldn't it help if his cough wasn't reduced?

I don't think it would change the pneumonia very much if at all. But if inadequate control over mucus/saliva contributed to the pneumonia developing, it would be worth looking at other ways to keep them at bay. Even if he opts out of BiPAP and suction, you have read about the things like pineapple juice, soda, Alka-Seltzer, adequate humidity, cleaning the air, etc. that people here do.

Thanks Laurie. I’m just grasping at straws.

He is now open to the bipap and is ready for the intake process but now the clinic won’t do it until the infection is gone (in order to record proper stats/titration, etc). This makes sense. Maybe later this week or next we can finally get on board.
