Hello everyone,
My Mom has started with new symptoms of shaking of her legs especially during the night. It wakes her up all night long. She is also starting to shake when she rises from her wheelchair to go to her bed. Is this indication she will not be able to walk at all soon? Also she is starting to feel twitching underneath her skin, sometimes her arm, sometimes her leg, even her fingers. Still waiting for Dx, but closer...
Thanks for any responses,
Andie13

Hi Andie- Sorry for what is happening to your Mom. As you can probably tell from reading past threads, this disease affects everyone differently, but also in very similar ways. So it is hard to predict.

Her doctor chould be able to prescribe some Quinine for the leg cramps that keep her up at night. Also, if you can help her stretch her legs, that will also provide some relief. If she cannot do stretches herself, have her lie flat on her bed and you lift her leg straight up towards the ceiling. there is probably a better description eslewhere on this site or one of the ALS sites on the internet.

Good luck and let us know how it goes! Cindy
