Default Sensorimotor polyneuropathy and ALS

In addition to ALS I was told that I also have Sensorimotor Polyneuropathy, but that I need no treatment for it. Anyone have information on this combo?

Evidently the first neurologist I saw in Lafayette, IN, who did a less extensive EMG than the muscular neurologist at Rush in Chicago, added this on after I had the ALS diagnosis from the Rush ALS Group.

Default Re: Sensorimotor polyneuropathy and ALS

They’re not related. But sensorimotor polyneuropathy is not really that rare, particularly in folks over 65.

So it would follow that some people with ALS would have this, just as some people with ALS will have hypertension or diabetes.
