Afo- water

Do they sell an afo that can go underwater? My husband had difficulty in a pool without his afo.

Where is his weakness that the afo helps with? I think my afo itself is ok with water ( ad shows a guy paddleboarding in it) but the padding / velcro would be an issue if I tried to submerge.

Is he trying to swim or walk in the pool? Can he use a floatation device to help?

He has foot drop and had trouble walking in a pool.

If it is only foot drop a kind of ankle wrap might help. I will send you a link of one I found

I wear an afo by Otto Bock called “WalkOn.” I wear them in the water all the time, with some canvas tennis shoes or some wet suit booties. The booties didn’t work to well when I put the afos in the booty and just stepped in on top of the afo. Then I tried putting the afo in the booty and put an insole from my tennis shoe on top of the afo; that workeked just fine. The afo is carbon fiber so it’s light, cool, and comfortable. The top velcro part dries quickly but I do have a couple sets so I can change them out if I need to.
