Road Trip from Oklahoma to South Dakota

My PALS has wanted to go to Mt Rushmore. I am thinking about road tripping from Oklahoma to Keystone SD.

I am not thrilled about driving through Kansas.

Anybody know of must see things going north from Oklahoma? Maybe in Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana?

We are thinking about going the last week of June.

1) Northeastern MN, Capulin Monument is a volcanic cinder cone, a 15 min. drive to the top for great views
2) Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Cog Tram
3) Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park
4) Devil's Tower in Wyoming is not too far from Mt. Rushmore
5) Wind Cave and the Badlands in SD plus other sights in the Black Hills, also Deadwood, Sturgis

There are many other sights along just about any route, just takes a little digging to find what would be of interest.

My husband and I made the trip from Arizona to Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone last October with our Granson and one of his friends.
Really glad we did it but it did involve a certain amokunt of work.

The Garden of the Gods and the Royal Gourge outside of Colorado Springs were nice.
