Using the cough assist machine has been very difficult for me since I can't breathe without the bipap mask, and people usually can't get the cough assist device mask tightly and comfortably against my face. A week ago I got an idea: fit a bipap mask hose joint to the cough assist machine hose with duct tape. Then it is only a matter of detaching one joint from the mask and inserting the other in its place. After a week of testing I am very happy with the system.

Good idea! There are tubing adapters that could probably replace the duct tape, for anyone so inclined.

A sneak peek of the video. Gonna shoot more material tomorrow.

Are you getting enough exhale pressure? The BiPAP vented masks have a flap by elbow adapter which closes during exhalation. It looks like it works, i just wonder if your are getting enough exhale pressure or if the flap is affecting the exhale in any way. It is a great idea.

The flap is in the elbow adapter and was taped over.

Forgot to link the final video. Musical score: Valse Triste ("death waltz") by Jean Sibelius.
