IN ABOUT 20 YEARS MAYBE THEY WOULD NOTICE THAT IT COULD SAVE MONEY! Rampps, converted vehicles, hoists, and medical costs after fall could all be avoided...
I am guessing it would be at least double the cost of the type of power chair we currently get approved for. $50,000 minimum and likely closer to $75,000?. That would pay for a lot of lifts and ramps! The convenience would be great, but since most public places are now accessible, I don't have much need for the stair climbing feature. A portable ramp usually does the job otherwise. The chair would be great independence for a paraplegic though, and worth the cost for the decades they wouldn't need caregivers. We "out grow" the ability to be that independent too quickly to justify the cost, I believe. And if we fall it is usually because we are too pig headed to use ANY chair! ;-)
