In addition to what you said Nikki, the legislation also addresses Medicare's capped rental policy. Before this legislation, Medicare required all SGD's to be rented for a 13 month period and then you would own it (I'm sure they counted on a % of PALS not living for the whole 13 months). With this legislation, you will now be able to purchase the device. The issue I was having is that I'm covered by my wife's commercial policy and Medicare is secondary. The commercial policy said the SGD has to be purchased and therefore Medicare would not pay as secondary because of their rental policy. That means $4,000 out of pocket for me. Now, if I can wait till October, Medicare will step in and help on that 4 grand.
