ALSA Ice Bucket Windfall

A majority of the ice bucket challenge donations to ALSA were made before they added an option on the online form to restrict donations to research. Those are technically unrestricted and ALSA has made it clear that they are slowly working on a plan that will include things outside of research grants.

My personal opinion is that donor intent is important and that people who heard Jimmy Fallon or GMA talk about donation to ALS research before flashing a link to alsa.org really intended their donations to go to research.

I encourage anyone who thinks that it's important for the ALSA windfall to be earmarked for research to let their national office know.
