I was diagnosed on May 30 th with ALS and so far it's just affected my legs / I am in a wheelchair / at night I have a real hard time sleeping partly because I have a real hard time turning over at night/ any suggestions?

Sorry to have to meet you here but welcome.
Since your arms are good look into a bed cane. Also a former member used to loop a soft belt around her leg and use that to move her leg. Slippery sheets and nightclothes help too. If those don't work there is the option of a hospital bed with special mattress. Are you by chance a vet?

No i am not a vet/ I also unable to pull my self up in bed / if I have something to hang on to / I can pull myself up

So look into a bed cane and try the belt trick both of those should help.

Or an overhead trapeze from Walgreen's.

What about sleep meds? I take 10mg Ambien and 15mg Mirtazapine. Sleep well almost every night.

The VA issued me a bed rail. It nas been one of the most useful aids I have.
Here is a search on similar from Amazon but you can find them many places.

Oops, my search link got cleansed but simply put "bed rail" into Google and you'll get a bunch of hits!

Thank you I will try thar
